Gaming has always been a plesurable past time of mine. It helps me to relax even during deaths which i can account for. But some people view Games as harmful and destructive. What do YOU think of this issue?

well i dont think that its gaming that went to far but the media. they pick out every bad thing in a game (hot coffee etc) but they dont pick out the better side of games (graphics gameplay) the media is destroying games.

i also find it bad in the increase in m games out there.

A couple of games have bee great speculation for the media. Remember Manhunt a couple of years back. A guy played thought it was cool and because of it killed his best friend. Thats where it all steamed from here in the UK. There were calls for stricter laws on games and some people wantedviolent game banned. In my opinion its not the games fault its the person who does something bad and takes a game serioulsy.

I think those thoughts exactly. FRD should know this other story.

A couple buy Resident Evil 4 for their son. It was an over 18 game. Properly labeled an all. Now the son plays for around 10 mins and takes an epelictic fit. The parents play the game saying "not properly labeled" but 1. 18 is on the front so why is he playing it? 2. The game always says before the start "This game contains scenes of extreme violence and gore".

The parents blamed Capcom, Capcom blamed parents. Luckily Capcom won.

Its that kinda stuff that annoys the crap outta me.

i agree with holy monkey in that its not the games fault but the gamers. if they cant control themselves then they shouldnt be able to have it. and i hate wat danny12 brought up. thats just pure stupidity on the parents part. how can you blame a company if it says on the label that its for 18+?

like i said before i agree totally if the game is clearly marked and has warnings on it then only the people buying it can be to blame. Besides all of that what would most games be without excessive violence eh Smile

If it were me I wouldn't let it controll my life, I would keep important things as my first priority. But that's all opinion, if people want to play video games all there lives let them, that's what they choose to do. It's a free country.

If people allow themselves to lose control of themselves like that i see no reason why games should be blamed
