|
|
I have a smal lquestion about using a PS2 to play on-line games. When I connect to a PS2 game over the network am I on the regular internet or is it a Sony server that only other PS2's can connect to?

| Its a server, its a gay one but im pretty sure its a server. Thats why you have to register for every ame because every game has like its own little empty server |

You are logging onto Sony's game servers. Basically you are not logging on to the internet, your logging onto their intranet (of sorts).
Anybody with more advanced information on the workings of the PS2 Online please chime in. |

The direct anser to your question is that you are logging on to a Sony server that only other PS2's can connect to (usually, in some cases the developers make the online portions of the games for all consoles and PC's playing the game). |

| And then your just accessing the internet through your own web-connection, not through the Sony servers. |

In order to do that, you need the HDD drive for the PS2, which unfortunatley, only works with the Jap models
