What's up with you and that swirly crap? No offense, but it really looks bad. :S Try some different effects. You may also want to try blending in the render a bit. Also, the text, yuck. If your going to use that font put some effects into it, or get a more interesting font.

I would suggest reading a tutorial. I learned most of what I know from Snort It and a few others. I also learned most of it from their tutorials.

Style is objective. What you may love somebody else may hate. You have become good at the swirly thing you do. I would suggest developing other styles, and try some other things. Who knows, you may like the new styles better.
