Microsoft is still learning the whole videogame thing. Sony made the PS1 when all we had was the SNES and the Saturn. Sony advertised better than Sega did, and blew them out of the water.

M$ has tried the advertising thing, but now Sony has such a good foothold it would be difficult to de-thrown them.

That still depends on Microsft. Sony has been in the business a vey long time and they know what works and doesnt. Just because the 360 looks like the best system to come out doesnt mean it will win. Look what happen to Dreamcast. I remember the huge hype over that console and a year later it was dying Microsoft still has some time, plus from what I understand, Xbox was not a big hit in Japan. I really dont know why tho. Anyone know why?

There were something like a couple hundred Xbox's sold in Japan for every million PS2's. From what I understand, there just wasn't a great deal of third party support for Japanese Xbox games. Also you didn't see a lot of the obscure games that the Japanese folks enjoy so much, like the train simulators.

I had some Xbox sales figures for Japan, but I can't find them right now. They may be at my desk at home. I will look for them when I get home.

I didn't have time to get the numbers off my desk last night, but I will. I'm working six twelve hour shifts a week right now (not much help anymore).

Well, as to the XBox in Japan thing, it was because basically the XBox was this big, heavy gaming console. Look at the PS1 and PS2. Both of them are fairly small, easy to carry around, and quite you can actually handle getting it somewhere. I've never had an XBox and therefore I havent been able to attempt moving the thing around alot, but it sounds like its quite a workout.

As well, Microsoft barely got into the console business. They saw there was cash to be made, and they came in. I find that in terms of consoles, the Xbox is more centered around FPS games, while the PS2 can do so much more..

Anywho, back on the topic of PSP.. I havent really used my PSP much yet, however as far as I have I quite like it. Only gripes I have is the fact that the analog stick isnt easy to move sometimes, and that sometimes you have to press a certain set of buttons and they are quite far from eachother.

But my main experience with the PSP will come in two-three weeks, when I go on a trip to Georgia-Florida from Texas, and I will have a new PSP game I have been waiting for.. I can speak after that.. Razz

Yea, its got an internet browser. Its a bit of a challenge on massive websites since you have such a small window. And it takes a while to type things, but it does work on the internet.
