OK i do realize that no one belongs to this yet but i will get people to join.

PS3 is going to have better graphics, but the XBox 360 will be out much sooner. It reminds me of the Dreamcast vs. the PS2. Hopefully Microsoft can hold its own better than Sega did.

ok heres my problem with the PS3, it uses blu-ray technology which holds 20 gigs more however it takes more to run it, unless they use two lenses its going to be 4 times slower than the 360 or if it uses 2 lenses than it will be two times faster, but if they use two lenses then its also going to be 50 -100 dollars more expensive. PLus in my own opinion microsoft has better games and a better online experience. So it depends what you really want i guess. But if your an RPG kind of person i would recommend getting the PS3. If you like action shooters like HALO then I'd get the 360.

There are several reasons that i would get 360 over PS3; 1) The PS3 at E3 would cost much, much more, and would need a f*cking frezzer to run. 2) Sure, what was at E3 was better than anything else out there, but they had to take out so much stuff, it now will be higher priced with less than what everything else has. 3) And the main reason I would buy 360 over PS3 is: HALO 3!!!!!!!!!

yeah i guess i forgot to mention the price diffrential i think you could buy two 360s and still not spend as much as u will on one PS3

I think the XBox is a great machine, and I believe that Microsoft will back it to the end because they think long term. The PS3 will be a more powerful machine, similar to how the XBox blows the PS3 out of the water, but how long will it take the developers to realize the PS3's full potential, and by that time we'll probably be into third or fourth generation 360 games, and Microsoft will already be working on the next XBox.

you make a great point because i think sony just tries to get a machine out there wher as microsoft actually takes the time to perfect their machine, not that the PS2 is bad because i still think its better than gamecube, but they couldve done so much more with the PS2: better online, hard drive, multiplayer(only has two controller, not many games have more than two), etc. I dont really wanna mention them all.

Price is a huge factor in this...the PS3 is gonna be damn expensive, even the guys from Sony Corps are saying this. They say "it won't be for casual gamers",.....it's gonna be for people without lives or anything better to do. Don't get me wrong I love games..I design them. As for one of the earlier posts saying if you like "RPGs" get PS3...that's not really a great tip. Not only is the 360 getting the FinalFantasy series (yes a version of XI right away) but it will also have the newer ones coming out, but it also has Elder scrolls: Oblivion (stunning visuals)..also the guy who created final fantasy is creating an 360 exclusive RPG...I'm not a huge RPG fan but, this bodes well for 360, there are going to be 1 maybe 2 quality RPG's that are exclusive to any on system.
As for the PS3 games looking better...well let me say that it has been revealed and proven recently that the footage of Killzone2 was all prerendered CG footage...Sony has admitted this is what their goal is to make in game play look like,....but it's not there yet....I have no doubts that it will be, but in game play won't look as nice as that at launch. Don't forget Sony has a tendancy of promissing the world before a console is released and then pulling the rug out from everybody at launch. They are already looking at taking out or modifying some of the PS3 hardware to bring down costs a bit. While the PS2 was a decent machine, it was extremely glitchy, slow, and a pain in the ass for developers to program, and of the 3 current systems, the weakest graphically...now let me follow that by saying that Gcube missed the boat and didn't exploit it's potential except for in rare cases (RE4, to name one)

So right now I will be picking up a 360...for a couple of reasons, it has better exclusive titles (for the types of games I like), it is a lot more powerful than a lot of people (readers) realize, and it's processing power is through the roof as far as possibility. From a game designers stand point, working on the 360 titles is and will be better than the PS3..I still have a bitter taste in my mouth about the ridiculous architecture of the PS2 system...the PS3 though is much better than the PS2...but as a consumer...I will not be buying it at launch...not until the it has a few months to prove itself...and lower the price.....way to expensive..

I agree one hundred percent although im going to wait and see whether the Revolution or PS3 is better and i might get one of them.

The PS3 does look interesting,but I do agree that around 300$ is a bit expensive. (But it is better than the original price of 500$.)
I would probably get the X-Box 360 first for any Halo games and the fact that it should be cheaper.

i forgot to mention that ive got the 360 preordered. And then in a year i might either get the PS3 or the Revolution i need to wait to see which system is the better one.

The Xbox lost millions in Japan, but the Xbox 360 has done much better. They love their Sony across the pond.

I don't know... I'm tempted to just go out this week and buy an Xbox 360 but thats probably because its readily avaliable while I have to wait til march for the PS3
