Spoken Reviews?

I'm trying something out. I may not be able to use it becuase it can only take on 600 characters at a time, but I'm looking into it.

I can have a flash character read reviews on the site for the lazy people who don't like to read.

What do you think? Is he worth spending money on?

You scare me Rsstites. I had the same idea where you can have a voice clip and people can listen to it.

That's all well and good, but do you guys think it's worth spending about $10 a months so I can have the spoken reviews?

Well withthe 600 character limit not at the moment. However test it for a month or so and if it is used a lot then add it permeanently. If not remove it.

Well I've been able to bypass the 600 character limit, so it can now play full reviews.

It would also be difficult to tell if people are going to the site to use it, or if it is just an extension of the increased traffic the site has been experiencing lately.

Also since I have to embed code, cancelling it would be a pain in the butt.

Hmmm. I think I may try it out for a couple of months.

What I really want to know if it is stupid, or an asset. Does it make you want to read or listen to the reviews more. Or does it sound to robotic.

If it is to robotic I could record it myself, but that would take more time. And time is a commodity.

I didn't hear it, but most of the time those automatic readers sound just like robots. I don't like 'em usually, but to be honest I didn't go to listen.

Reason's being that I have to hook in headphones whenever I want to listen to sound on my computer, so it's a hassle for me.

Maybe it would be better if I recorded the audio instead of using the text to speech translator. Then it would sound as good as I could do it.

Well, I ended up cancelling it. I'm not going to have the time to add it to all the old reviews. Maybe I'll use it in the future, or just record reviews myself, and play them.
