Does anybody else have MUGEN on their pc's. MUGEN is a build your own 2D fighting game. You download the fighting engine, then you download your characters. I have about a hundred characters in my game. They range from Evil Ken to Wolverine.

that sounds pretty cool if i were into one of those game i would make it. how hard is it. Do u have to do like sprites and stuff or is it easier than that

Street Mugen may be a good place to start. I can't remember the site I started with, but I got a lot characters off of Street Mugen http://www.streetmugen.com/mugen-us.html.

You can make your own characters, but there are thousands on the internet you can download. The biggest problem is most of the sites are in Spanish, Japanese, French, etc and there are a lot of broken links. You can still find your way around, and there are plenty of sites in English.

Just download the Mugen program, then the characters then the stages. There is some code manipulation to add characters but it's not that bad. And you can find instructions. If you can find it download WinMugen, it looks a little better on windows than the dos version does.

The best way to find characters is to just do a Google search for MUGEN characters.

Oh, one more thing. I can't run the dos MUGEN on my desktop because the video card isn't compatible. But I can run WinMUGEN on it.

I have characters from the Street Fighter games (one, II and III), the SNK games, the Guilty Gear Games, the Marvel Vs. games, SNK vs. Capcom, and Capcom Vs. SNK, among other home-made characters like Superman and Wonder-Woman.

If there is enouph interest I may put a pack to gether for downlaod. I can't put the characters on the main site without the authors consent though.

Im sure the creator would love for you to put his work on your site. Its kinda like free publicity aks him and tell us what he thinks. Plus this could be another way to get people to join.

danizduhman - You only have to manipulate code to add characters or stages. It's not bad, you just fill in the character info in the character select file. It gets a little more complicated if you want to have more character selection slots. But you start out with like twenty or something.

hockeydude121 - Most of them don't want you to host the files they want you to link to their site. Also MUGEN is very glitchy and the requests for help would kill me if I hosted a MUGEN site.

Only some of the characters work with some of the versions of MUGEN and there are very few "this character only works with the windows version" disclamers. Also people send e-mails like, I can't findy Cyber-Akuma, do you have him. And people will send "hey, this sucks, I can't get it to work. Can you do it for me". I know a guy who has a MUGEN site and he gets all kinds of guestions like that.

Sounds like a good programme i must try it out. What other MUGENS is there?
