Xbox 360 "Elite" Details (It's Official) + Some ot

If you don't know what I'm talking about...

The Xbox 360 Elite SKU. It's basically the third column in their sales tactic(Core, Premium, Elite)

It's official, the new version of the Xbox 360 is coming out April 29th. It'll be the third SKU available, joining the already existing Core and Premium.

120 GB HDD
HDMI Port w/ HDMI Cables.
The console is supposed to retail for $479.99.
The new Hard Drive is supposed to retail separately for $179.99.

In other news...some more companies are joining Xbox Live Marketplace.

So yeah, the reason for this version of the 360 according to MS is to allow the people who use their 360 as their main media hub to have enough storage space for all the features of Xbox Live, including downloading movies, music, games, as well as IPTV which will be coming to 360 sometime this year.

I hate how there doing this. Xbox is going to be like a computer soon, forcing you to upgrade every two weeks to play any games.

The Elite isn't really an upgrade in any major way. It's basically just an HDMI port and a larger HDD which you can buy separately anyways. The people who have enough money to buy an HDTV that supports 1080p(which is basically why HDMI exists) probably have enough money to afford the Elite, or a trade in.

Well I don't know about that. I have a 1080p TV, but can't afford the Elite.

Either way, It's a decent offer, even if the HDD is overpriced to hell and back.

Is it broken? If not...then no.

I doubt your HDTV supports 1080p, and I further doubt that your parents let you DL much stuff from the marketplace...not much of a reason to get one.

I may get one of these however I'm disiplining myself. In order for me to get one of these I have to pass all my exams which start in June. If I passs them then I'll get one.

Darkflame, you never play on that tv, you don't have xbox live, therefore the extra 100+ GB of memory is useless. The only thing that you're paying extra hundreds of dolors for is the color, which if you want it black that much you can pay me and I'll paint yours black.
