Right we all love music do we not. And so I have taken it upon myself to post a weekly Top 10 of the tracks you the gamers should listen to and introduce you to bands you probably never heard of. Being from the UK I will mainly be focusing on indie/alternative rock as that is the bigest music scene in the UK. However to really get this topic going I will post my Top 10 of all time with links to the videos of the tunes. Feedback is welcome and reviews of songs also cool but submit them to me so I may check them for grammar and content.

Top 10 of All Time

1. Song 2 - Blur
http://youtube.com/watch?v=iJ-6xGaETHQ

2. Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple
http://youtube.com/watch?v=6MSyFA84u48

Note: At the beginning the guitarist plays intros to lots of songs.

3. My Generation - The Who

4. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
http://youtube.com/watch?v=RuUhZxkr194

Welcome to the second week of Holymonkeys Top 10. This is where it will get serious where I will be bringing my own reviews of songs, bands and live events I go to (which are a lot.) However here I will also give you music from unsigned bands who I have met or heard. So lets beign with this weeks top 10.

1. Our Velocity - Maximo Park
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eWwBkA0GqaY

I love this song myself. Has a great rhythm and great to dance too.

2.Gravitys Rainbow - Klaxons

http://youtube.com/watch?v=bMnWbyyRcok

Great up and coming band on the scene. Have a unique sound and this is a good follow up to their first single Golden Skans.

3. Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs
http://youtube.com/watch?v=JMDcOViViNY

The Kaiser Chiefs are back and doing what they do best. The first single to be taken off their new album Yours Truly, Angry Mob.

4. Acceptable in the 80s - Calvin Harris
http://youtube.com/watch?v=p1S3JCknQJ4

5. Brainstorm - Arctic Monkeys
http://youtube.com/watch?v=30w8DyEJ__0

Arctic Monkeys stay true to their indie rock image in this new single from their forthcoming album Favourite Worst Nightmare.

6. Invincible - Muse
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eUiuh902VUU

Voted best live band, Muse definately know how to pull of a godd show and make good music. This song is released from their newest album, Black Holes and Revelations.

7. Standing In The Way of Control - The Gossip
http://youtube.com/watch?v=QGRuKbCn09E

I like this tune as it has a great tune and is great to sing too.

8. Thnks Fr Th Mmrs - Fall Out Boy
http://youtube.com/watch?v=cTT-LHUoSVI&mode=related&search=

Fall Out Boys new single from the new album, Infinity on High. I like this song and believe it is one of the best songs they have ever made.

9. What I've Done - Linkin Park
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8sgycukafqQ

This is a deep song about the world. Really gives you insight of what goes on around us.

10. 500 Miles - The Proclaimers
http://youtube.com/watch?v=qQfqSWe8eVE

The Proclaimers re-released this song for Comic Relief 2007 ( a massive charity event in the UK to help get rid of poverty in the UK and Africa). I love it myself.

And now Holymonkey's Unsigned Band of The Week.
The Sirens Call
www.myspace.com/thesirenscallareback

I saw these guys live a few weeks back and have to say they put on a good live show. I tip then to make waves in the future.

In other news I am going to an intimate gig with Letters From London and one of the band members house. Only 40 people are going and a small show will be put on by 3 different bands. More news closer to the time.

And now we're in the 3rd week of Holymonkey's Top 10. Bands are now pulling their beteer music out as we get closer to festival season in the UK. The chart this week hasn't changed much due to only a few songs being released in this genre that have made big waves. Anyway here we are.

1. Our Velocity - Maximo Park
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eWwBkA0GqaY

This song stays at Number 1 in the chart for a second week. I'm still not sick of it and really Maximo Park deserve it. History has been made in the Top 10 as Maximo
Park set the record for longest number 1.

2. Brainstorm - Arctic Monkeys
http://youtube.com/watch?v=30w8DyEJ__0

This song has grown on me personally. I find myself singing along to it quite loudly.

3. Away From Here - The Enemy
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7ZCVds_Q3WE

A new entry in this weeks chart. I like this tune myself. Conveys a message within it.

4.2.Gravitys Rainbow - Klaxons
http://youtube.com/watch?v=bMnWbyyRcok

Gone down in the charts but still a good song. However there are some better tunes on the album.

5. You Can't Have It All - Ash
http://youtube.com/watch?v=QLOY_LrRet4

Another new entry this week. A lot of people say this makes Ash sound similar to Muse but Muse are one of the best bands of all time so in my opnion this makes them well worth a listen.

6. 4. Acceptable in the 80s - Calvin Harris
http://youtube.com/watch?v=p1S3JCknQJ4

Still a great tune to dance too and a fun song to say the least. Very 80's esque.

7. What I've Done - Linkin Park
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8sgycukafqQ

This song has moved up this week because I feel it really does portray the world and shows us what really matters and thats life people.

8. Thnks Fr Th Mmrs - Fall Out Boy
http://youtube.com/watch?v=cTT-LHUoSVI&mode=related&search=

A non mover this week. FOB staying steady in the charts with their latest outing.

9. Invincible - Muse
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eUiuh902VUU

Muse have gone down this week. A nice relaxing tune but not their best.

10. On Call - Kings Of Leon
http://youtube.com/watch?v=UEh8OL0Jj-0

Another new entry. Kings Of Leon make their entry into the chart with this stomper of a tune.

Holymonkey's Unsigned Band of the Week:

3bobnation

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&frien did=58310273

This band is one of the best unsigned bands I've seen and had the pleasure of meeting. Friendly guys who make good music. I'll be at their next show this weekend dancing away.
