Ah, didnt see a topic up for this...

So does anyone else play this series of games? Got Ace Combat X other day, unfortunately I cant play it until 2 more weeks.. Hope to get my PSP charged up for it..

Yea, I'd be willing to say since PS1 that its improved..

And actually Ace Combat on the PS1 was one of the better aircraft games of the time.. Razz

i admit that is true but still i like the ones for ps2 more. specially Ace Combat 0 and 4

4 was awesome, the story could have used some lengthening but you couldnt ask for much more. Physics were good as well, planes actually turned quite right.. I might ask, have you got the last plane on the list?

5 was meh, the story sucked (Peaceloving pilots in the middle of a war..), but the wingman feature kept me coming back.. I actually got the time to beating Sea of Chaos down to about 54-48 seconds..

0 was awesome overall, the story was good, and it had improvements over AC5.. (Wingmen were actually worth a crap from the start, unlike AC5s which you had to beat the game many times to achieve) Must say though, it sucked that you couldn't change the wingmen's planes, and the fact that I already knew 95% of the story before I started playing didnt help much either..

X looks promising to me, and I only have about 2 more weeks left..

yea i agree 4 and 0 were grand
actually i could never get the last plane mostly because i lost the game and didnt feel like buying a new one lol i liked 5 mostly for what you said the wingman commands. tho the dialouge did get a bit repative and so annoying that when i would play id press mute

the whole series is basically aswesome except for the exception of 5 which was ok you should play sometime. i think its only for PS2 tho

Yea, its only for the PS2, and the next game AC6 will be for the X360..

Basically you get fighters, attackers, and multirole aircraft and it puts you into a story, I couldnt give you specifics because each game is different really.. Razz

I got the last plane in AC4, and believe me, it is the most frecking awesome thing you will ever pilot in AC4. However in multiplayer it tends to be a game of "Who can press the circle button first?"..

As well I havent played Blazing Angels, heard of it but yea.. Razz

Although all of the games in the franchise has a disasterous plot, I still enjoyed the series. Fires of Liberation is my favorite.
