So to inject some life back into this forum lets talk about, probably, the biggest event occuring this year., The US elections.

We have 3 main runners ,in my opinion, now. These three being Obama, Clinton and McCain. McCain basically has the Republican nomination in the bag but the Democratic race is still close.

However with 11 straight wins in primaries and caucus' for Obama, Clinton will have to win with a landslide victory ( at least by 20%) in all the remaining primaries. I believe Obama has the Democratic nomination and feel he can actually do something different than his predecessors.

Your thoughts?

Where have you been living?!

The only reason we went to War with Iraq was because the US is our ally. This decision has probably affected the future for generations:

War in Iraq = Higher oil prices leading to higher costs to the public.

War in Iraq = Destabilisation in the Middle East could lead to a regional war between Iran and surrounding countries.

The US stock market = If that crashes the whole world is fucked financially.

The US is also the biggest exporter of wheat so we kind of need that.

For the past 60 years the US has had enormous influence on the globe especially druing the Cold War.

The US government has also had a hand in installing (yes installing) and supporting crackpot dictatorships such as Pinochet of Chile and Musharraf of Pakistan respectively.

If you really want to get the lowdown on the effects the US has and is having on the world visit:

You should for this one. It's probably one of the biggest elections in US history.

It really is, but right now i dont see the republicans as having a chance unless they go dirty, really dirty, and i would put it passed them.

McCain is basically Bush again....so how can he win.

McCain may have a chance if Hillary gets the Democratic nomination. Even I would support that! I just don't like her.

Now if Obama gets the nomination it will be a landslide victory for the Dems.

It depends on what the candidates are like but this one we're more than likely to either see the first woman president or the first black president. Bush vs Kerry 2004 wasn't big as it was almost certain Bush would win that. It all depends on how tight the race is.

Oh, I see what you are saying. It is like the importance of Super Bowl 41 Colts vs Bears.
