I have a Halo 3 edition Xbox 360 that is acting up, I think I might get RRoD soon. I want to purchase a new one but I want to keep all my gamesaves and purchased videos and such and install into the new 360. Does anyone know what I need to do this? Please advise.

save your content on a memory card and insert it into the new console

Just dont sell your hard drive, your hard drive is all your saved games and profiles. i will buy your console from you..
