The whole Empire Earth series deals with history and conquest. In the games you can rewrite or just relive history itself. You can do whatever and kill whoever. Yes there are objectives in the campaigns but they are just guide lines. As you go through the ages you learn about history and kill many people along the way. It does involve strategy and role-playing, but with lots of action and adventure. If you feel like playing online and killing or joining your friends in a fight against each other.

Really the story is based on which campaign your playing and what you do in it. There are a lot of campaigns to play.

The characters range from Alexander the Great to futuristic cyborgs. As you play you learn about each character and how they came to be. You could even change their story yourself depending on your actions.

The graphics of Empire Earth I are not as good as expected, but the game will work on almost every computer. If you zoom in far enough you can see their box heads and bodies. Empire Earth II is a different story because its graphics were definetly upgraded to the max. Everything in II is almost realistic. The water and land don't look like a mess of colors, but a realistic beach with palms , fish, and a coral reef. The people in this one don't look like boxes, but more like circles.

The controls are basically the mouse(if you like hot keys, they have them) clicks and shift button. I don't think they should change any of the controls.

Sound does change between games. In Empire Earth I you hear the music as if you were in constant war. In Empire Earth II the music is more peaceful and relaxing. You don't tense up like in Empire Earth I.

There is an online feature to this game. You can go online with multi-player and fight people you do or don't know.

I would give this series a 9 out of 10. It is fun and you can even create your own campaigns and civilizations.

The fun-factor is immense. You could play for months on end and never get tired of playing, but if you don't have internet then in might get boring within a month.

This fall Empire Earth III is coming out. They have added Global warfare where you can fight for territory to control the whole world.
